We have assembled online versions of some of the classic retro games that you used to play at the local mall arcade. Video game arcades reached their peak in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This time was referred to as the “Golden Era” of video gaming. Arcades were located in just about every mall in the country. News games were being brought to market as fast as possible and arcade owners were bringing in record revenue. It is even said that Space Invaders was so popular that in Japan it created a temporary coin shortage.
Present day video games have experienced a quantum leap in terms of computer processing power, graphics and sounds. Games are much, much more realistic than their predecessors of days gone by. Although this makes for good gaming, there is still something special about playing these retro games from the 70s and 80s. After all, this is where it all started!

Here are some pictures of some classic arcade machines from the golden era of video games. I put a lot of quarters in these types of machines and I am sure that a lot of you guys did as well.
